“Our stay at Trey and Erin's tiny house was fun and the kids got super excited to be surrounded by cats, chickens and even a peacock. The tiny house could be overwhelming for a family of 4 but we were most of the time out and about. The location is perfect for strolling in Ybor City and to take the trolley to go to downtown Tampa, the Warf, the aquarium, etc and the big plus it is free. The only thing that was hard on us was the noise especially at night on weekends. Our first night was a Saturday and we heard everything going on outside until 2-3AM. The house is surrounded by clubs/bars, so be prepared for that. It seemed like we were partying with them from our bed. The other thing to consider is to know that roosters crow not only in the morning but also during the night (midnight, 3am, 4am, 6am...) I loved the fact that earplugs are provided in the house :)”

Thanks again for staying with us; I'm glad your kids enjoyed the animals so much. While the space is designed to maximize the 500 SF with full kitchen and bath, it is indeed a tiny house and optimal for two. Our family (two boys ages 7 & 8) love to get away and stay at the Roost because it's surrounded by so many great places to walk to or take the trolley to--so I am glad you were able to take advantage of the location. I do want to clarify though that we are on a residential street; bars and restaurants are two blocks away. That being said, Ybor can get lively on the weekends, especially if there is a festival, parade, or special event going on. You are immersed in the heart of the historic district. I'm glad the ear plugs helped drown out the noise, I'm also a big fan of white noise machines whenever I travel and have one located in the bedroom as well.

“Third time at The Roost so I’ve said it all in recent reviews . This time we spent Christmas there! What a great holiday! A spectacular dinner Cmas eve at the Columbia .. walked over after cocktails on the patio .. love feeding the roosters hens and peacock .. A rooster Big Red roosts on the patio fence every night at five thirty. We became quite attached to him . There are also fairly laid back feral cats in this area who come around to laze on the sun filled patio or rocking bench on the front porch . Also enjoyed being able to walk to the many restaurants on seventh ave. I have family in South Tampa and NoHo and getting there from the Roost was super easy via the Crosstown , I 4,or Palm Avenue. Great convenient parking too!! The neighborhood is quite ecclectic which we enjoyed but wouldn’t roam around extremely late at night. Area is very well lit though . If you love a little eclectic adventure with great restaurants and lively bars and street characters in abundance! The Roost is your place .”

“The place is great, right in the heart of Ybor. You can literally walk to anywhere in the area. Would certainly stay here again. It had all the comforts of home, not like a stuffy hotel.”

“This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a teeny house, with the amenities of a larger space. We loved its convenient location to eateries and a free trolley that serves Ybor City and Tampa. The hosts leave a binder filled with excellent ideas of activities, restaurants and area attractions. Not gonna lie - we loved feeding the neighborhood chickens and having friendly neighborhood cats visit us twice daily was a bonus.”

“The Ybor Roost is a fun and convenient place to stay in Ybor City. Erin and Trey were very responsive hosts. We found parking right in front of the house and enjoyed exploring Ybor City on foot (make sure to try the famous Columbia Restaurant, just five minutes away)! The resident cats and chickens make the Roost feel very homey. The roosters did wake us up late at night and early in the morning, despite earplugs, but this would likely be true of many properties in Ybor, as there are roosters roaming throughout the city.”

“The Roost is very close to 7th street in Ybor, only a minute or two walking. I thought I would need to take an Uber to the restaurants and bars, but it was completely unnecessary. Very clean, with plenty of towels and other amenities. I hope to stay there again.”

No über necessary if you plan to stay local. Even if you head downtown, to channelside, or over to the port/convention center the trolley and walkability is what we love so much too! Glad you took advantage of it. We would love to host you again, anytime!

“Location! Location! Location! Park the car and never move it until it’s time to leave. Ybor Roost is where you want to be. It is walking distance to everything fun and only 3 blocks to the trolley system that runs 2.7 miles to Downtown Tampa. We book it for a little couple getaway and it’s perfect.”

“This is a great little find in an eclectic neighborhood of Ybor City. Though it is a tiny house it lives big! On comfort, location ,ambiance, cute decor, originality, charm, cleanliness, uniqueness, Small details well thought out, attentive hosts, .. and oh those wonderful Ybor Roosters and neighborhood cats! Erin leaves feed to give the roosters and hens who come to visit daily . You ring a bell and they come running . Sweet kitty’s visit to say hello and lounge on the porch or courtyard ! We didn’t use the fire pit in the cozy back courtyard bc it was August but can’t wait to come back in cooler weather . The neighborhood feels safe and very walkable to seventh avenue yet far enough away to feel private . The Amtrak train runs by a few times a day which I absolutely loved ! Erin left earplugs and a sound machine in case you didn’t want to hear that or the roosters calling to each other . Very thoughtful touches all around !!!! We will be back.. have already booked for Christmas . Patty Walkup Edisto Island, SC ( originally a fifth generation Tampa native) Aug 2018”

“The Roost is a quaint and cozy place in a prime location in Ybor City. The daily chicken and kitty visitors really made the place feel laid back and homey. The Keurig and large TV were really nice to have - and the bathroom is more spacious than I expected. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and will stay here again if I'm in the area.”

“My husband and I greatly enjoyed this charming tiny home! Being tucked just around the corner from a lively strip made us feel like we’d nabbed the perfect spot for our Ybor/Busch Gardens trip. The place was very clean and comfortable, and it feels pretty spacious for its size. There’s also no shortage of details to discover throughout the decor. We hope to be back soon!”
